Honestly my first experience using Diigo was difficult and frustrating. I didn’t understand the set up and I feel like the programming is a little outdated. After using the program a few times I started to get the hang of the layout of the program and I really like the bookmark feature. I am still a little lost when using Diigo but it is an interesting program for sharing online resources and I am interested in learning more.  I have actually have had a great time blogging on blogger this semester! What I like about blogging is that it does not have to be a too formal compared to essays or discussion posts. Blogging is mostly about your own experiences and opinions on a topic and you are able to share with others and see if they have had similar experiences. Many people are nervous using new programs and technologies and hearing that they are not th only one having a difficult time can be refreshing to hear.  I think a Web 2.0 tool that I might use when teaching is Kahoot. I have never personally had Twitter, however; I would say that my experiences using Instagram has been beneficial for my personal learning experiences. By having social media like instagram there are many times where I can just search up anything from “new one pan recipes” to “what happened in Tallahassee this weekend?” Most of the people I interact with are people I went to school with, and/or friends, but I also follow a lot of accounts that give school (FSU) information, like what is happening on campus this weekend. I find accounts like this beneficial because I am keeping up with what is going on in my community, and therefore I can stay involved! Sources like Instagram and Twitter might be helpful in my future career because now most people have these platforms, and I could be able to reach families, staff and administration through these sources. The digital divide can affect some students' success in schools because not all students have access to technology and/or digital ...

The standard that I am looking at today is Standard 1: Responsible use of technology and information under the Body of Knowledge: COMPUTER SCIENCE-PERSONAL, COMMUNITY, GLOBAL, AND ETHICAL IMPACT. This standard is for the grade levels Kindergarten through second grade, but I am focusing more on kindergarten. This standard explains that students should be able to show how to properly care for an electronic device like shutting it off, being careful with how you handle it etc. It also explains how to make sure you’re communicating and using online services in a safe way and while also maintaining your privacy like not sharing your information, taking to strangers, how to identify inappropriate content, and picking an appropriate password. I think that yes, with my current skill set I would be able to teach and implement this standard in a classroom of kindergarteners. Hopefully, most children this age should be able to relate the responsibility of taking care of something fragile to somet...

As a teacher I think it is very important to be knowledgeable about copyright and fair use. I think it is especially important to be educated on the topic when it comes to classroom materials like for instruction, tests, class work and homework. I do think when it comes to the students it might be easier to avoid copyright when the students are still younger but when it comes to the older students that are using more technology, it will be more difficult to ensure they are using themselves only. Using programs that will scan for copyright like turn it   in, or   teaching how to use proper citations and/or summarization will help avoid copyright from your students.   I think a solution to decreased productivity for students would be making sure that students do not have access to other platforms on their devices during the time that they’re in class. For example, I have taken tests before on my laptop, but I had to download Honorlock onto my computer, which did not ...
