When I was doing distance l earning during COVID-19, I actually felt like I was much more organized and on top of my work. I think this was the case because I had a lot more free time and was spending my time doing assignments rather than spending a lot of time in my electives, or lunch, or even driving to and from school. The one thing I had a really hard time with while doing distance learning was my more rigorous classes like my AP Psychology class and my Orchestra class. Trying to prep for a AP exam through zoom made it difficult for me to focus and I got distracted easily while at home. I couldn’t imagine how much more difficult it would be teaching through distance learning, because it is so hard to connect with your students this way, however, I would probably try to come up with engaging assignments that were interactive and helped get my point across in the lesson.  Open educational resources are resources that are open for use to anyone. When it comes to identifying...

While I was designing my website for my classroom, a skill I learned was organization. I already pride myself on my good organization but when it comes to writing a paper, blog post or now a website, it is always hard for me to organize my information in order to easily read and flow. Some principals I used while creating my website were consistency/repetition and proximity. I tried to use religion with my formatting so it all looks like one fluid website, I personally would dislike if every page looked very different from the other. And I used proximity when spacing out my student and parent resources, so they were easy to find and read. I really enjoyed majority of the assignment I do think it was helpful for my future and ill only get better at creating a website however, when I was trying to save the website and create a URL I had a really difficult time and found myself very lost.    Personally, I never us AI programs like ChatGPT, I think that AI tools like that create l...

When I was looking for teacher pages on a school website, the types of information that I found on the teacher pages was a picture of them, what grade and class they teach, their work email, class website, and phone number. I think that it was very easy to find this teacher page, all the you have to do is log onto the school’s website, click our school and click faculty and staff. If you go to the search bar and type in teachers, different sites from Leon county school come up. These include different school sites, faculty and staff pages for other schools and teacher portals. I found it even easier to scope the page out for faculty and staff rather than type it in the search bar.  https://www.leonschools.net/Page/52909   I think I will easily be able to use technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities once I teach. Our generation has been taught how to use different resources and platforms since 3rd grade or even younger, therefore we are able to easily pic...

Honestly my first experience using Diigo was difficult and frustrating. I didn’t understand the set up and I feel like the programming is a little outdated. After using the program a few times I started to get the hang of the layout of the program and I really like the bookmark feature. I am still a little lost when using Diigo but it is an interesting program for sharing online resources and I am interested in learning more.  I have actually have had a great time blogging on blogger this semester! What I like about blogging is that it does not have to be a too formal compared to essays or discussion posts. Blogging is mostly about your own experiences and opinions on a topic and you are able to share with others and see if they have had similar experiences. Many people are nervous using new programs and technologies and hearing that they are not th only one having a difficult time can be refreshing to hear.  I think a Web 2.0 tool that I might use when teaching is Kahoot. Kah...

I have never personally had Twitter, however; I would say that my experiences using Instagram has been beneficial for my personal learning experiences. By having social media like instagram there are many times where I can just search up anything from “new one pan recipes” to “what happened in Tallahassee this weekend?” Most of the people I interact with are people I went to school with, and/or friends, but I also follow a lot of accounts that give school (FSU) information, like what is happening on campus this weekend. I find accounts like this beneficial because I am keeping up with what is going on in my community, and therefore I can stay involved! Sources like Instagram and Twitter might be helpful in my future career because now most people have these platforms, and I could be able to reach families, staff and administration through these sources. The digital divide can affect some students' success in schools because not all students have access to technology and/or digital ...

The standard that I am looking at today is Standard 1: Responsible use of technology and information under the Body of Knowledge: COMPUTER SCIENCE-PERSONAL, COMMUNITY, GLOBAL, AND ETHICAL IMPACT. This standard is for the grade levels Kindergarten through second grade, but I am focusing more on kindergarten. This standard explains that students should be able to show how to properly care for an electronic device like shutting it off, being careful with how you handle it etc. It also explains how to make sure you’re communicating and using online services in a safe way and while also maintaining your privacy like not sharing your information, taking to strangers, how to identify inappropriate content, and picking an appropriate password. I think that yes, with my current skill set I would be able to teach and implement this standard in a classroom of kindergarteners. Hopefully, most children this age should be able to relate the responsibility of taking care of something fragile to somet...
